We have an urgent opportunity for Product Sales Leader – (Power Generation/ Renewable Energy solution) position for a leading manufacturer of diesel engines and generator sets for all residential and commercial usage
Role Overview
As the Product Sales Leader for Alternate Fuels, you will be the commercial spearhead for our sustainable energy transition.
This isn’t just about selling hardware; it’s about selling a decarbonization roadmap.
You will lead a specialized team to position our alternate fuel gensets (PNG, Ethanol, Hydrogen, Bio-methane, Dual-Fuel, Syn-Gas etc.) as the primary solution for ESG-conscious enterprises, data centers, and utility providers.
Key Responsibilities
Transition Strategy & Market Creation
- Market Evangelism: Educate the market on the viability and ROI of alternate fuel technologies compared to traditional diesel.
- Fuel Infrastructure Partnership: Collaborate with fuel suppliers to ensure “Total Solution” availability for clients.
- Policy Navigation: Stay ahead of carbon taxes, emissions credits, and government subsidies to leverage financial incentives for customers.
Specialized Sales Leadership
- Technical Value Proposition: Shift the sales narrative from “Initial CAPEX” to long-term sustainability.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build alliances with Green Building consultants and Sustainability Officers (CSOs) who influence large-scale procurement.
- Team Upskilling: Transition the existing sales force from commodity selling to complex, technical solution-selling.
Product & Application Expertise
- Niche Application Targeting: Identify sectors where alternate fuels are most viable, such as Agriculture (Biogas), Marine, or Carbon-Neutral Data Centers etc.
- Dual-Fuel Integration: Lead sales for conversion kits and dual-fuel systems that allow a gradual transition for risk-averse clients.
- Feedback Loop: Work with R&D to provide “voice of the customer” data regarding fuel efficiency, energy density, and storage challenges.
Commercial Excellence
- Complex Deal Structuring: Manage long-cycle sales (12 to 24 months) involving complex regulatory approvals and technical feasibility studies.
- Impact Reporting: Provide customers with projected carbon-reduction metrics as part of the commercial proposal.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering. An advanced degree in Renewable Energy or Sustainability is a major plus.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years in Power Generation, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Gas to Power, Hydrogen, or Renewable Energy solutions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of global emission standards (e.g., EPA, Stage V) and carbon reporting frameworks.
- The “Green” Network: Existing connections within the renewable energy ecosystem and environmental regulatory bodies.
