Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. (An MBA in Operations is added advantage).
- Experience: 20 to 25 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, ideally in connector, electronics manufacturing, wire harness, or electro-mechanical components.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of precision injection moulding, plating CNC & Machine shop operations, and connector assembly technologies.
- Systems: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data-driven operational reporting.
Role Overview-
Plant Head would lead the strategic and daily manufacturing operations of the connector facility. This includes overseeing moulding, CNC, Machine Shop plating, and assembly lines to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and to exact customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Direct daily manufacturing operations to meet or exceed master production schedules.
- Oversee critical processes including precision injection moulding, machine shop, assembly, Plating shop, CNC.
- Monitor manpower planning, machine utilization, and line balancing to maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Implement and manage TPM programs to minimize equipment downtime.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain zero-defect initiatives and manage continuous improvements using Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry quality and environmental standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, RoHS, and REACH.
- Manage customer and regulatory audits, non-conformance investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Manage factory regulations & compliance. To oversee factory inspection.
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Develop and manage annual plant operating budgets, including OPEX and CAPEX planning.
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to reduce material waste, optimize inventory, and lower operational costs.
- Review and approve resource allocations for materials, equipment, and technology upgrades.
Leadership & Human Resources
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate performance of department heads, engineers, and production staff.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and foster a culture of safety, “5S” organization, and continuous innovation (Kaizen).
- Manage employee relations, training, and succession planning within the plant.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with R&D and Engineering for New Product Introduction (NPI) and tooling development.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Procurement departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
