We have an urgent opportunity for Operations Leader – Strategic Sourcing (Renewable Energy or Hydrogen sectors) position for a leading manufacturer of diesel engines and generator sets for all residential and commercial usage
Position Summary
The Operations Leader will be the architect of the operational framework for New Energy division.
You will oversee the end-to-end value chain—from strategic sourcing of specialized components for Electrolysers and Fuel Cells to the delivery of complex Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar Balance of Plant (BoP).
This role is pivotal in ensuring that our green energy solutions meet the legendary standards for reliability, safety (HSE), and quality (SQI) while remaining cost-competitive in a rapidly evolving global market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain
- Ecosystem Development: Build a robust, global supply chain for critical new energy components (PV modules, inverters, lithium cells, stacks for electrolysers, and membranes for Fuel Cells).
- Strategic Procurement: Negotiate long-term agreements with Tier-1 OEMs to ensure price stability and supply security.
- Localization (Make in India): Drive localization initiatives for components of FC Gensets and BESS enclosures to align with manufacturing excellence.
Order Management & Fulfillment
- Project Execution: Oversee the lifecycle of orders from contract signing to Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for Solar and Hybrid installations.
- Inventory Optimization: Manage “Just-in-Time” delivery of high-value components (e.g., BESS containers, Electrolyser stacks) and other products to minimize working capital.
- HSE (Health, Safety, & Environment)
- Safety Leadership: Enforce a “Zero Harm” culture across field installation sites.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all New Energy projects comply with extant safety norms including hydrogen safety norms, high-voltage battery storage regulations, and environmental discharge standards.
SQI (Supplier Quality & Improvement)
- Quality Benchmarking: Define and implement rigorous SQI protocols for new-age components where traditional standards may not apply.
- Performance Audits: Conduct technical audits of suppliers’ manufacturing processes to ensure the reliability of Balance of Plant (BoP) and critical electronics.
Technical Scope
The Leader must demonstrate operational fluency across the following technologies:
- Solar & BESS: Deployment of utility-scale and C&I storage solutions.
- Hydrogen Value Chain: Production (Electrolysers) and Power Generation (Fuel Cell Gensets).
- Hybrid Systems: Integration of Diesel/Gas Gensets with Green Energy to provide 24/7 “Limitless” power.
